Accessible midblock onstreet parking drawing
There is no prescribed number of accessible onstreet parking spaces within the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accessibility guidelines. However a reasonable number of accessible spaces must be created throughout a jurisdiction to assure "programmatic compliance". The final determination of how many accessible onstreet parking places there are in a jurisdiction should be reviewed for comments by the disability community which is being served.

Temporary Accessible Parking Sign (pdf)
The sign was developed by the City of San Francisco for use during
special
events that take place within the public rights-of-way or when
construction
closes city streets where permanent blue zones are located but unusable
during the life of the construction project. The signs are attached to
parking meters or poles at the front of what will become the temporary
accessible parking space in appropriate locations close to the area
that was
closed for the special event or construction. This sign and the street
closure/special event policies that require the use of this sign were
developed to ensure that a temporary accessible parking space replaces
any
blue zones lost during the events/construction.
