Shooting Beauty is a documentary made by husband and wife team, Courtney Bent and George Kachadorian. Bent had been a fashion photographer and she and her filmmaker husband worked for ten years to complete this movie which is an effort to change the way we look at people with disabilities For the movie, 27 men and women with disabilities were given cameras to show the viewers their world. The cameras are operated by tongues, chins and hands. Bent appears as the guide for the viewers so that they can mimic her own experiences when she first befriended the group. She moved through a cycle of feeling sorry for them when their disability was the first thing that she saw, to realizing they were interesting people with interesting lives and their disability was secondary to them as individuals.
