The Statewide Independent Living Council of Georgia (SILC) provides fiscal sponsorship and board oversight for Concrete Change .The SILC of Georgia is a nonprofit, non-governmental, consumer-controlled organization that plays the vital role of providing disability information, financial support, and technical assistance to a network of seven Centers for Independent Living (CILs) located throughout the state. Their goal is to make ALL new homes visitable by everyone. For them three essentials must become routine: --One zero-step entrance, at the front, back or side of the house. --All main floor doors, including bathrooms, with at least 32 inches of clear passage space. --At least a half bath, preferably a full bath, on the main floor. Builder by builder, city by city, policy by policy, the change is already beginning to happen in parts of Arizona, Texas, Illinois, Georgia and many other locales. Web site
